RTTC (Book 3) “Nature Provides”

“Return To The Classics” Book 3
“Nature Provides”

Project Groundation has linked up with Northern California’s Sierra Seeds Cooperative to bring forth a 1970′s Roots & Culture throwback project focused on nature, farming & the way it affects our system. DJ Child digs deep into the PGM vaults pulling some rare gems. This project is the beginning of a campaign linking the 2 companies to help raise awareness about breaking the chains of Babylon’s Systems and sustaining life for ourselves. At the core of all revolutions is the basic necessities of life; food, clothes & shelter. Until we can provide these for ourselves, we will be slaves to a system that dominates on a global level & continues to destroy the Earth’s natural resources.

KAMOY MAGAZINE—DJ CHILD INTERVIEW

DJ Child Interview

Kamoy Magazine is a Caribbean fashion magazine based out of Miami,FL. Jamaican super-model Nerissa Irving sat down with DJ Child & reasoned in depth for this 6 page interview…
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Kamoy: Why did you gravitate to culture/reggae music? I ask this because I noticed most of you mix tapes gravitate to a Rastafarian lifestyle. Your style is very revolutionary.
DJ Child: Rasta is resistance against an oppressive force that represents a globalized, demonic, cloned society. Rastas are Revolutionaries in every sense of the word. They live a unique lifestyle for themselves, by themselves, by any means necessary. Because I equate Rasta and Revolutionaries as one and the same, it’s a natural fit for the message in the music that I blast to the masses.
Following the politics of what’s going on in the world affects me deeply and angers me. I feel that the greatest way that I can contribute to society is through my music. One of the things that attracted me to Rastafarians from the beginning was their emphasis on a nature-based religion. I believe that at the root of all revolutions is farming. To break free from a dominating system one must be able to provide for themselves on all basic levels of life—food, clothes and shelter. Music has always preserved the oral tradition of a peoples…and my mission is to try and leave my mark of what’s going on in the world around me…to hopefully provide something for the youth of the future.

Mixtape Mondays

“Instead of our regularly scheduled Mixtape Mondays program, this week we give our full attention to a LargeUp exclusive from Oakland, California’s humble boss, DJ Child. Child’s independent hustle and seemingly effortless dedication to his Project Groundation Massive (PGM) brand has garnered him fans and supporters the world over. With countless volumes of mixtapes in the catalog, a slew of classic bootleg 12″s and now a series of music videos shot, produced, edited and blasted all by the man himself, it’s hard to believe he gets any sleep. When he’s not working on those projects, you can find him shooting artist photos, promoting his clothing line, or collaborating with M1 from Dead Prez, Konshens, Sizzla, Pressure, Jahdan Blakkamoore and various other top-ranking and up-and-coming artists.”
