“Straight From the East”
Hosted By: Natty King & Abijah…

This time Project Groundation Massive’s DJ Child gets Natty King and Abijah to host volume 19 of the “Straight From the East series.” Starting off with the Marcus Garvey Riddim, dropping in the classic title track by Burning Spear, just from the beginning vibes of this one you’ll probably predict it to be a “one drop” massacre. Expert mixing of Natty King into Tony Rebel and onwards take you to the “Seasons” Riddim where Jah Cure’s “Love Is” opens the weather report after a nice Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Interlude. We have Sean Paul’s “Never Gonna Be the Same” spelling “next single” all the way to T.O.K’s “Tears” bubbling afterward, somewhat like a part two to their smash hit, “Footprints.” Natural Black’s “Far From Reality” is just mixed out too early, because this is where the riddim definitly finds a home, but with other tough riddims such as the “Cry Baby” and “Revolution,” where Barrington Levy’s “Black Roses” makes the cut in this 2005 mixtape, brace for the fire and brimstone further on when the lights dim for the “Black Shade” riddim and others that take you towards a hip hop medley including DJ Krush, Dead Prez, Nas and some heavy preaching, compliments of Malcolm X.
